Susyn Nominated For IAWTV Board of Directors
Recently I was nominated for the IAWTV Board of Directors. I am very honored, humbled and grateful to be included in the field of 25 fantastic nominees. Elections are next month.
The following is my candidate statement:
I am honored to accept the nomination for the IAWTV Board of Directors.
I have been actively involved in the web TV space for the past 2 ½ years as an actress and a marketing consultant, and even though I have only been an IAWTV member for the past year, I am on the Communications Committee and participate in the IAWTV writers group.
In that short time, I have developed strong relationships with producers, directors, writers, casting directors and actors in the web TV space, entertainment industry leaders who want to have more involvement in the web TV space, and others interested in web TV. Despite great strides that IAWTV has made, I believe we can do much more – we can be a viable third power, along with network TV and studio features.
These are my priorities:
-Work with the Board and Membership to ensure that new IAWTV members have the resources and tools to be successful.
-Utilize my experience as a CEO of a communications company to work with the Board and Communications Committee to create a strategic model of communications flow between IAWTV and its members.
-Continue my efforts to work with the web TV community, studios, and independent production companies to create a viable revenue model for web TV in which the entire entertainment industry would embrace and participate in.
My selection to the IAWTV board would ensure a new voice with new ideas to complement the experience and knowledge of veteran members.
In line with the third priority bullet point above, I found this article in the Los Angeles Times – very in line with my position on the future of web TV.
If you are an IAWTV member, I would love to pique your brain about the future of IAWTV and even if you aren’t an IAWTV member but you are either working in the web TV space or want to work in the web TV space, I would love to chat with you.
Love and Light to you.
May Notes
I have had a good May thus far.
The web series I am producing, The Dating Life, will have table reads this month and start principal photography in June. I would love to have your support with the project. For updates, check out our twitter page here and our Facebook page here.
I was a recipient of an alumni award from my alma mater, the University of Colorado. The awards ceremony was held last week. It was so humbling to be nominated and be the recipient of one of these prestigious awards from my dear old CU!
In addition to my own series, I have roles in web series that film next month.
I am continuing to write my “Social Media Files” column. My two most recent “Social Media Files” columns can be found here and here. This column is all about how the entertainment industry is using social media to get it done.
Whew. Busy. And it’s only May 11th!
